Perfect Balance Yoga and Massage
Billings MT - October 24, 2015

Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India. Yoga is an expression of movement of the subtle energy system through physical poses and postures (asanas). Much like the forms of Tia Chi, Yoga's asanas support energetic flow through the subtle energy system promoting the release of energetic and emotional stagnation.

There are many "schools" or styles of yoga and all typically have some link with the use of sound within their practices. It is common to begin a yoga practice with chanting Om (pronounced "Aum"). Sound therapy practices and yoga practices can be combined to support each other in therapeutic and complimentary ways.

Didgeridoo sound healing yoga classes support an existing yoga practice with the addition of didgeridoo to promote a deeper connection with the energetics of the body. The yoga class is conducted normally and led by a studios instructor.(*)

Joseph offers a brief introduction to the didgeridoo and his sound therapy practice and will play a selection of instruments to support the asanas the instructor guides participants through. Sound healing yoga classes help open students chakras and/or clears energetic blocks as they move through each asana. Joseph stops playing during Shavasana, unless asked to continue to play for the first part of it.

Didgeridoo sound healing yoga classes can be modified to support all styles of yoga from Vinyasa, Hatah, Mysore/Ashtanga, Kundalini, Yin to Restorative.

(*) Offered with an instructor from the studio/venue or organization sponsoring the class.
